Conservation Easement in New Paltz, Active Farmland

The Wallkill Valley Land Trust (WVLT), was founded in 1987 as a non-profit organiation dedicated to preserving the unique rural character of Southern Ulster County. 

WVLT has conserved 33 public and private parcels totaling about 2,500 acres, including the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, the Rosendale Trestle, three CSA farms and a variety of agricutltural properties and important habitats, including wetlands and forests.

To fulfill its mission, WVLT collaborates with many local and regional organizations, including the Wallkill Valey Rail Trail Association, Open Space Institute (OSI), Scenic Hudson, the Mohonk Preserve, Historic Huguenot Street, SUNY New Paltz and the Hudson River Estuary Program of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. WVLT is also a member of the Land Trust Alliance, a national organzation of over 1,700 land trusts.
