Photos from 2010 Walks and Talks

Check out photos, (and soon videos!) of our 2010 Walks and Talks!

The First WVLT Walk and Talk of the season was the beautiful Pastyik Conservation Easement.

Located in the Town of Shawangunk, this 95 acre protected parcel is ecologically rich with marshes, woods, a beaver pond, and hay fields. Lynn Bowdery, WVLT Land Steward and Angela Sisson, WVLT Board Member took participants on a hike to visit a beaver pond, hayfields, forest habitat, and wetlands. Below are some of the highlights of the trip:

Despite rain and cooler temperatures, our May 8 Walk and Talk on the Osborne Conservation Easement was quite wonderful!

The sun came out halfway through the event, and we enjoyed the blue sky, singing birds, and facinating details about the area.

A perfect day in the Hudson Valley accompanied the Smith Walk and Talk in the Town of Gardiner.

Although the weather was not ideal for turtle tracking (usually a bit of rain and slightly cooler temperatures results in finding more turtles!) the group of enthusiastic participants found two Eastern Box Turtles right away!
